H.E.L.P. is for "Creating Change" in individuals and societies.
H.E.L.P. (Health and Humanitarian Educational Leadership Program) is a non-profit organization founded by Shram Shukla and Karan Shukla. It is an organization made to empower bright, young academic minds with the ability to impact this world in a positive way. H.E.L.P. aims to make a strong humanitarian effort to improve the lives of others and challenge students academically by allowing them to formulate their own projects and to learn from the experiences they encounter while on their volunteer trips. H.E.L.P. works on shaping the students who take part in this program into the future leaders of this world as they gain experience from partaking in and leading projects which can have an incredible influence on the lives of others.
Why H.E.L.P.?
H.E.L.P. is a program designed to give aspiring college students the opportunity to receive a hands-on experience in what it is like to lead a volunteer program that reaches out to thousands of people. Students will develop a better understanding of what it takes to be a good leader. H.E.L.P. is founded with the principle that an investment in the lives of others will have a long-lasting impact that is far beyond the simple measure of numbers.
Our Belief
H.E.L.P. believes that it can provide a platform for students and professionals with common ideals to collaborate and be a part of the solution to the pressing health concerns of the world.
Founders
Co-Founder Shram Shukla - President
Shram currently attends Temple University as a student in their Honors Program and their Health Sciences Scholars Program. He was the founding Vice President of the Southwest Memorial Hermann Junior Volunteer Auxiliary Board, an organization that is a part of the Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston and is dedicated to serving the local Houston community. It has always been his dream to continue from his experiences at Memorial Hermann and continue to extend his reach. It is also for this reason that Shram founded H.E.L.P. with the vision of creating an organization that epitomizes the endless potential of positive global change and the strength it creates in the lives of others.
Co-Founder Karan Shukla - Vice-President
Karan is a recent M.D graduate. He created a project of his own earlier in his medical school years dedicated to improving the health standards at an American hospital, Centre Medical International, in Conakry, Republic of Guinea and in the surrounding areas of Conakry. Karan has also attended the Clinton Global Initiative meeting, which brings together all the motivated students who want to make changes in this world themselves as well. This propensity for creating innovative projects to address the pressing modern health concerns continues to draw its motivation and vigor from his belief that the global health concerns of today require new thinking and new ways for these projects to be successful.
Co-Founder Rohan Shah - Secretary
Rohan currently attends Rice University as a Medical Scholars Program Student. A graduate of the Hightower High School Medical Sciences Academy, Rohan’s vast array of clinical internships and research internships confirmed to Rohan early on of his passion for medicine and its power to tangibly impact lives. He expanded this confirmed interest in medicine by continuing to help others through his expansive volunteer work with the Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital Heart And Vascular Institute and the Debakey Heart Institute at the Methodist Hospital. Through Students for H.E.L.P., Rohan hopes to create a positive global impact while exemplifying the power of volunteering and its unmistakable impact on lives. He is determined to become a cardiothoracic surgeon and create a research institution that will incorporate cutting-edge technology to drive the field of cardiology into the next century.

Daryoush attends the University of Texas at Austin. As an undergraduate student there, Daryoush is following the pre-law track.
